Nowadays, we often hear the slogan “we live in strange times.” There seems to be lots of confusion and strange things happening. Criminals are glorified and made into victims by the media, while victims are portrayed as the aggressor. It seems that the world is confused with right and wrong, with activist worldwide fighting for the minority to rule the majority.
In addition, in the Western world, the extreme right and far left who hate each other are joining forces when it comes to their hate against the Jewish people, just like the Kingdoms of Moav and Midyan, which were arch enemies, made peace to jointly fight the Jews.
במדבר רבה כ ד “במדבר כב ד ויאמר מואב אל זקני מדין” והלא את מוצא שמדינים נלחמים עם המואבים שנאמר (בראשית לו, לה): “המכה את מדין בשדה מואב” והשנאה ביניהם מעולם משל לשני כלבים שהיו מריבים זה עם זה בא זאב על אחד מהן אמר השני אם איני עוזרו היום הורג את זה ולמחר יבא עלי לפיכך נתחברו מואב עם מדין.
We have to look into the Torah to see when this happened in our history. In Parshat Noach, the Torah tells us about the time when the people of that generation came together to build the Tower of Bavel, on which they wanted to reach the heaven with one mission, a joint effort to fight God!
בראשית יא ד ויאמרו הבה נבנה לנו עיר ומגדל וראשו בשמים ונעשה לנו שם פן נפוץ על פני כל הארץ
The Torah says that as a result, Hashem made them speak different languages, and He divided them into separate nations. Each nation was placed in different continents and received the tools to withstand those climates.
בראשית יא ז הבה נרדה ונבלה שם שפתם אשר לא ישמעו איש שפת רעהו
בראשית יא ח ויפץ ה’ אתם משם על פני כל הארץ ויחדלו לבנת העיר
בראשית יא ט על כן קרא שמה בבל כי שם בלל ה’ שפת כל הארץ ומשם הפיצם יהוה על פני כל הארץ
Despite this, their desire to fight God never ceased. Many nations of the world are trying to fight God in every generation.
The Torah explains that since the enemies of Hashem cannot directly fight Him, they will go after His Home Jerusalem and the Jewish people, who are Hashem’s children.

R’ Yehoshua ben Levi said in the name of R’ Alexandri: one verse says “…you shall obliterate the remembrance of Amalek…” (Deuteronomy 25:19) and another verse says “…I will surely obliterate the remembrance of Amalek…” (Exodus 17:14) How will both of these verses be fulfilled? Before he has reached out his hand against the throne ‘you shall obliterate Amalek.’ Once he has reached out his hand against the throne ‘I will surely obliterate the remembrance of Amalek.’ And is it possible for flesh and blood to raise his hand against the throne of the Holy One?! Rather, since he was about to destroy Jerusalem, as it is written “At that time, they will call Jerusalem the Throne of the Lord…” (Jeremiah 3:17) therefore “…I will surely obliterate the remembrance of Amalek from beneath the heavens.”
From here we can understand that the focus of the anger, hate and incitement is not against the Jewish people, but rather it is a war against God. In their attempt to fight God, these God haters go after all that which God holds dear, the Jewish people, the Torah and Jerusalem.
If you look at the fights within the nations, you will find the same common theme. Every law created for a small minority in society, is being pushed onto the majority in a direct fight against God! It is an attempt of the God haters to remove control from God and place it in the hands of people!

God decides how much time a person has in this world
God tells us to eat meat and drink wine on Shabbat and Chag
God made a language and a border for every nation
God gave Israel to the Jewish people and its borders are clearly defined in the Torah
God commanded us to have law and order
All of the above are issues that anti God groups of all ages and backgrounds are fighting for.
“Anti-Goders” are out on the streets protesting and fighting God just like their forefathers who tried to build the Tower of Bavel to fight God. Their fight never stopped, and they are trying their luck in every generation. In their fight against God, their target becomes His beloved nation and His beloved Jerusalem as the Torah says, Bechol Dor Vedor, in every generation they stand up and try to annihilate the Jewish People, however, Hashem rescues us from His enemies, and in the end they all have the same fate as the people who built the Towel of Bavel.

After October 7, 2023, many people worldwide expressed their surprise by the actions of the left leaning people in Israel. They’re anti-government, anti-religious sentiments and violent protests in the streets of Tel Aviv were shocking. After all, they were targeted and suffered the biggest blow from Hamas on Simchat Torah. Some of these agitators are Jews and some aren’t. Some have Israeli citizenship, but many are just infiltrators from other nations who came to Israel to fight God.
After all, these far left groups are pushing the exact same talking points and sentiments as anti-Semites around the world. They all share the goal of giving parts of Israel and especially Jerusalem over to Palestinians or another Muslim leader. They want to turn Israel into a European state by removing the Jewish religion and our strong connection to Hashem and His land. Likewise, they are also trying to stop religious Jews from putting on tfillin, learning and following the Torah, in addition to destroying our government and the justice system, removing law and order. While at the same time, they are accepting and respecting the Islamic religion by communicating and helping the extremist religious Islamist.
Interesting enough, we see many groups of anti-Semites, including Jew hating world leaders, using the words of the Israeli far left to justify their call for the murder of Jewish people around the world.
It boggles the minds of many. Do these leftists not see how self-destructive they are? Don’t they see that anti-Semites are using them to push their agenda? Don’t they see that they are spewing and justifying hate towards fellow Jews worldwide?
The answer is that people who joined the far left agendas have the same common enemy: God.
This is why the hate is the strongest against frum Jews who follow the Torah and mitzvot, because really what they hate is Hashem and the Torah way of life. As the Gemerah says that when the Jews accepted the Torah, hate came down to the world against the Jews.

This is not something new. During the time of the Second Bet Hamikdash, the Jewish people also suffered from left leaning Jewish people. They were called Mityavnim, bringing the Greek secular culture of denying God into Israel. The Greeks and the Mityavnim joined forces to fight the Jewish people to ban them from following the Torah and mitzvot.
Today, they have escalated the levels of hate, by doubling down on their false allegations against charadi men, saying that charadim don’t join the army, while at the same time, for many of them, they, their own children and grandchildren didn’t or don’t serve in the army.
There have always been plenty of charedi men, including rabbis, in the army. When many more charadi men joined the army, the left once again began crying foul and protesting the following: 1) the highest stranded hechsher of kosher food being served to accommodate the charedi soldiers, including the most stringent Passover laws, 2) separate units where charadi men can serve in a holy environment immersed in Torah and tfilla without women around so they can keep up with their religious standards.
Wait what?! Are they upset that the government accepted charedi soldiers and are accommodating them the exact same way they are accommodating all other soldiers, including those with allergies and other dietary restrictions?
Didn’t these leftist demand that charedim join the army, and when they joined en masse the left complain again? The answer is simple, they don’t want the military to be religious. It seems that they didn’t really want the charedi men to join the army, but they wanted for charadi men to leave religion behind while serving. They proved once again that this issue is not about Charedim joining the army, but rather a fight against God.
The Torah says that in every generation, the nations will rise up against us in order for us to stay true and connected to Hashem.
Since the Holocaust, we have heard the words “Never Again” over and over again being pushed by anti-Goders who tried to hold on to the false hope that Jews can be secular, live in the diaspora and be like the rest of the nations without suffering anti-Semitism.
History has proven that every time we the Jewish nation are targeted for being God’s chosen nation, many Jews who have not been connected to Judaism, “wake up” and learn more about their heritage. They want to learn what it means to be Jewish and why they are targeted.
The anti-Goders who want to destroy us, end up causing many Jewish souls to reunite with Hashem and return to our heritage and to Israel, having the opposite effect then what they intended it to have.
Another irony we see is that people worldwide are calling for Israelis to leave our God given country and move to the Western world so that Islam can take over God’s land. However, when Israeli leftist move to those countries, they are terrorized and not welcomed in stores or colleges. These anti-Goders make it impossible for Jews to live in the Western world, and thereby, they end up helping thousands of Jews make Aliyah and settle in our land.
